Mid-Session: Sensex down 293 points; NSE Nifty at 25959.25

Domestic bourses continued to hover in red during the noon trading session weighed down by selling in Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd, IndusInd Bank Ltd., HCL Technologies Ltd among others.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84748.16 down by -293.29 points or by -0.34 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25959.25 down by -83.05 points or by -0.32 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85250 and intraday low of 84733.91 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26106.8 and intraday low of 25957.55



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 172.90,+2.22%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1283.50,+0.94%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4009.15,+0.44%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 282.70,+0.39%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3634.15,+0.36%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 260.20,-2.00%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1465.45,-1.47%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 838.40,-1.45%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1645.35,-0.95%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1640.70,-0.90%), among others.



Power index was at 6427 down by -60.55 points or by -0.93%. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 260.80,-1.77%), NHPC Ltd. (Rs. 77.00,-1.71%), Torrent Power Ltd. (Rs. 1277.75,-1.68%), Adani Green Energy Ltd. (Rs. 1004.35,-1.33%), Adani Power Ltd. (Rs. 140.30,-1.30%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4527 , shares advanced were 1493 while 2801 shares declined and 233 were unchanged.
