Sensex down 445 pts, Nifty below 26,050; IT stocks drag

Domestic bourses continued to hover in red during the noon trading session weighed down by selling in index heavyweights including Bajaj Finance Ltd.Asian Paints Ltd. Bajaj Finserv Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. among others.



At 14:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84963.41 down by -445.29 points or by -0.52 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26044.15 down by -97.95 points or by -0.37 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85378.51 and intraday low of 84954.9 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26144.2 and intraday low of 26030.85



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3997.10,+2.27%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1274.20,+1.22%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11821.50,+0.52%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 324.20,+0.50%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 851.70,+0.41%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 999.70,-1.49%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2744.55,-1.47%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2006.90,-1.42%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1609.45,-1.33%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3279.90,-1.22%), among others.



PSU index was at 20275.04 up by 89.95 points or by 0.45%. Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (Rs. 385.35,+11.47%), MMTC Ltd. (Rs. 63.85,+11.02%), Hindustan Copper Ltd. (Rs. 477.00,+9.28%), Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 132.00,+8.69%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 587.40,+7.65%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4465 , shares advanced were 1845 while 2436 shares declined and 184 were unchanged.
