Mid-Session: Sensex plunges 384 points; NSE Nifty at 26039.75

Indian equity benchmark indices continued to hover in red during the noon trading session, as the holiday-shortened week offered few fresh triggers for investors.

At 12:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85023.79 down by -384.91 points or by -0.45 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26039.75 down by -102.35 points or by -0.39 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85378.51 and intraday low of 85010.99 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26144.2 and intraday low of 26034.3



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4001.25,+2.37%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 857.50,+1.09%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 325.25,+0.82%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11816.20,+0.47%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1264.30,+0.43%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1651.85,-1.38%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1713.65,-1.37%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1001.00,-1.36%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2751.10,-1.23%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1612.25,-1.16%), among others



PSU index was at 20332.51 up by 147.42 points or by 0.73%. Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (Rs. 385.15,+11.41%), MMTC Ltd. (Rs. 64.02,+11.32%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 597.25,+9.46%), Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 131.55,+8.32%), Hindustan Copper Ltd. (Rs. 472.00,+8.13%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4344 , shares advanced were 1911 while 2236 shares declined and 197 were unchanged.
