Post-Session: Sensex ends 116 points lower; NSE Nifty at 26142.1

Benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty ended lower in a volatile trade on Wednesday as trading volumes remained subdued amid the year-end holiday-shortened week and mixed trends in global markets.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 85408.7 down by -116.14 points or by -0.14 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26142.1 down by -35.05 points or by -0.13 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85738.18 and intraday low of 85342.19 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26236.4 and intraday low of 26123



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11777.60,+0.87%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16687.10,+0.66%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 268.45,+0.56%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1014.85,+0.34%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3637.00,+0.34%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5080.90,-1.43%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1737.50,-1.01%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2785.05,-0.83%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1557.95,-0.82%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2282.90,-0.80%), among others.
