Mid-Session: Nifty, Sensex move in narrow range; Bajaj Finance top gainer

Indian benchmark indices were trading flat in green during the noon trading session amid favourable global cues, with trading volumes expected to remain subdued ahead of the Christmas holiday.



At 12:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85544.29 up by 19.45 points or by 0.02 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26205.35 up by 28.2 points or by 0.11 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85738.18 and intraday low of 85386.54 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26236.4 and intraday low of 26141.4



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1022.50,+1.10%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 269.30,+0.88%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11775.00,+0.85%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1506.00,+0.82%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3649.65,+0.69%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5089.80,-1.26%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1733.35,-1.24%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1557.40,-0.86%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2794.90,-0.48%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1660.50,-0.46%), among others.



Metal index was at 35704.03 up by 217.9 points or by 0.61%. Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (Rs. 626.55,+2.74%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 296.75,+2.27%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 597.35,+1.85%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 877.75,+1.60%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 133.40,+0.57%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4302 , shares advanced were 2085 while 2016 shares declined and 201 were unchanged.
