Sensex, Nifty flat; Infosys, Bharti Airtel top losers

Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty declined on Tuesday after two days of sharp rally, dragged by IT stocks.

At 10:50 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85542.57 down by -24.91 points or by -0.03 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26180.2 up by 7.8 points or by 0.03 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85704.93 and intraday low of 85342.99 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26206.55 and intraday low of 26119.05



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11674.05,+1.23%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 268.15,+1.19%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2168.65,+0.87%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 323.50,+0.84%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 170.35,+0.71%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1668.30,-1.27%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2126.10,-0.98%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3301.00,-0.71%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2789.00,-0.65%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1360.35,-0.59%), among others.



Metal index was at 35542.87 up by 240.87 points or by 0.68%. NMDC Ltd. (Rs. 81.53,+3.89%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 397.60,+2.87%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 132.70,+2.00%), Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (Rs. 613.05,+1.10%), Jindal Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1009.80,+0.80%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4052 , shares advanced were 2241 while 1585 shares declined and 226 were unchanged.
