Sensex down 146 points; NSE Nifty at 26144.4

Indian equity benchmark indices opened flat and traded with a negative bias on Tuesday after two sessions of gains, as selling in information technology and realty stocks offset upbeat global cues.



At 9:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85420.62 down by -146.86 points or by -0.17 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26144.4 down by -28 points or by -0.11 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 85704.93 and intraday low of 85342.99 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26206.55 and intraday low of 26134.4



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 267.40,+0.91%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11610.35,+0.68%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 322.35,+0.48%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2160.25,+0.48%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1012.20,+0.47%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1660.00,-1.76%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2125.45,-1.01%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3301.40,-0.70%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 851.15,-0.63%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 285.00,-0.63%), among others.



_PSU index was at 20219.69 up by 122.3 points or by 0.61%. Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 541.30,+4.72%), KIOCL Ltd. (Rs. 358.10,+4.49%), Ircon International Ltd. (Rs. 163.60,+4.27%), SJVN Ltd. (Rs. 75.33,+3.28%), BEML Ltd. (Rs. 1854.15,+3.15%),.



IT index was at 37795.79 down by -397.23 points or by -1.04%. Cigniti Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1748.45,-4.14%), Coforge Ltd. (Rs. 1791.30,-4.11%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1660.00,-1.76%), Magellanic Cloud Ltd. (Rs. 26.38,-1.57%), Persistent Systems Ltd. (Rs. 6484.00,-1.20%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3574 , shares advanced were 2097 while 1277 shares declined and 200 were unchanged.
