Post-Session: Markets fall for 3rd day on foreign fund outflows; Sensex slips 120 pts

Stock markets declined for the third consecutive day on Wednesday, with benchmark Sensex closing lower by 120 points at a week's low due to relentless foreign fund outflows.

The 30-share benchmark index ended at 84559.65 down by -120.21 points or by -0.14 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25818.55 down by -41.55 points or by -0.16 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84889.45 and intraday low of 84415.98 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25929.15 and intraday low of 25770.35



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were State Bank of India (Rs. 975.90,+1.51%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1602.10,+0.61%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1791.95,+0.51%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1224.65,+0.41%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3217.60,+0.41%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 833.75,-1.35%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 984.30,-0.99%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1352.95,-0.96%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1485.90,-0.89%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2021.20,-0.69%), among others.



Oil&Gas index was at 27943.51 up by 89.96 points or by 0.32%. Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (Rs. 192.70,+5.19%), Petronet LNG Ltd. (Rs. 268.00,+1.28%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 169.00,+0.42%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 168.20,+0.33%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 232.90,+0.28%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4504 , shares advanced were 1589 while 2736 shares declined and 179 were unchanged.
