Sensex, Nifty in red; IT, banks lead recovery

Stock markets in India extended their sell-off on Monday as weak global market mood weighed on the sentiment.

At 14:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85241.29 down by -26.37 points or by -0.03 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26035.65 down by -11.3 points or by -0.04 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 85278.63 and intraday low of 84840.32 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26045 and intraday low of 25904.75

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2290.75,+1.31%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1685.40,+0.78%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 852.00,+0.74%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1608.40,+0.60%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 402.60,+0.52%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3609.05,-1.90%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2071.00,-0.72%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1512.75,-0.63%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16417.85,-0.62%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 262.05,-0.59%), among others.
