Sensex, Nifty in red; Titan Company, NTPC top losers

Indian stock markets extended their decline during the noon trading session on Wednesday.



At 14:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84908.15 down by -230.12 points or by -0.27 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25953 down by -79.2 points or by -0.3 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85269.68 and intraday low of 84763.64 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26066.45 and intraday low of 25891



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3181.45,+1.46%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1386.60,+1.02%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1576.40,+1.00%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 995.90,+0.60%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1543.75,+0.53%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3800.85,-2.22%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 321.50,-2.16%), State Bank of India (Rs. 949.45,-1.89%), Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (Rs. 355.00,-1.83%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3649.15,-1.81%), among others.

IT index was at 36634.01 up by 268.67 points or by 0.74%. Sonata Software Ltd. (Rs. 366.50,+4.70%), Birlasoft Ltd. (Rs. 421.25,+4.04%), eMudhra Ltd. (Rs. 618.15,+2.06%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 255.05,+1.92%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3181.45,+1.46%),.



PSU index was at 19925.27 down by -358.97 points or by -1.77%. Indian Bank (Rs. 809.25,-5.84%), Punjab National Bank (Rs. 119.80,-4.54%), Bank of India (Rs. 139.55,-4.25%), Canara Bank (Rs. 145.65,-4.21%), Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 226.50,-4.11%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4406 , shares advanced were 1423 while 2794 shares declined and 189 were unchanged.
