Sensex down 342 points; NSE Nifty at 25774

Domestic bourses continued to trade lower during the late noon trading session amid volatility.



At 14:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84061.97 down by -342.49 points or by -0.41 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25774 down by -103.85 points or by -0.4 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84712.79 and intraday low of 84011.65 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25953.75 and intraday low of 25742.4



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 4032.80,+1.13%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3062.75,+0.90%), State Bank of India (Rs. 938.30,+0.45%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 420.40,+0.41%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3754.10,+0.08%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 319.10,-3.11%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 336.55,-2.48%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2107.30,-1.41%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 287.75,-1.30%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 987.35,-1.08%), among others.



CGS index was at 70610.82 up by 491.32 points or by 0.7%. Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 425.50,+3.79%), Suzlon Energy Ltd. (Rs. 59.75,+2.10%), Grindwell Norton Ltd. (Rs. 1710.35,+1.90%), Schaeffler India Ltd. (Rs. 3995.20,+1.75%), Bharat Dynamics Ltd. (Rs. 1540.00,+1.66%),.



Metal index was at 35195.86 down by -340.85 points or by -0.96%. Jindal Stainless Ltd. (Rs. 757.40,-3.28%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 496.05,-2.14%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 847.80,-1.61%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 234.85,-1.45%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 135.95,-0.80%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4438 , shares advanced were 1958 while 2278 shares declined and 202 were unchanged.
