Sensex down 500 points, Nifty near 25,900

Domestic bourses continued to hover in red during the noon trading session weighed down by selling in index heavyweights including Bharti Airtel Ltd, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.Infosys Ltd. IndusInd Bank Ltd. Bajaj Finserv Ltd.among others.



At 14:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84496.6 down by -500.53 points or by -0.59 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25889.35 down by -164.55 points or by -0.63 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84906.95 and intraday low of 84384.39 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26032.05 and intraday low of 25864.45



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3994.25,+1.08%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16198.95,+0.34%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1276.50,+0.27%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12023.00,+0.20%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1457.40,+0.19%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2065.45,-1.67%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 291.80,-1.37%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1491.85,-1.25%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 798.60,-1.21%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2111.90,-1.15%), among others.



Oil&Gas index was at 28576.65 up by 54.9 points or by 0.19%. Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 433.45,+2.99%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 357.70,+2.73%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 163.70,+0.43%), Adani Total Gas Ltd. (Rs. 636.75,+0.35%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 469.60,+0.27%),.



TECk index was at 17695.45 down by -189.51 points or by -1.06%. HFCL Ltd. (Rs. 74.85,-3.03%), Indus Towers Ltd. (Rs. 369.70,-3.00%), Bharti Hexacom Ltd. (Rs. 1875.00,-2.70%), Route Mobile Ltd. (Rs. 721.75,-2.14%), KPIT Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1170.40,-1.94%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4414 , shares advanced were 1812 while 2394 shares declined and 208 were unchanged.
