Sensex off highs, up 530 pts; Asian Paints up 4%

India's equity benchmark indices continued to trade higher and hit a 52-week high on Friday, after starting lower.



At 14:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83998.98 up by 531.32 points or by 0.64 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25729.45 up by 144.15 points or by 0.56 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84172.24 and intraday low of 83206.08 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25781.5 and intraday low of 25508.6



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2510.00,+4.18%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2017.05,+2.54%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3632.55,+2.01%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 412.85,+1.93%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2601.85,+1.59%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1441.20,-2.14%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1492.25,-1.52%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 343.20,-1.49%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 171.80,-1.29%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1447.10,-1.15%), among others.



CDS index was at 61145.49 up by 1011.03 points or by 1.68%. Whirlpool of India Ltd. (Rs. 1387.80,+12.15%), Havells India Ltd. (Rs. 1491.75,+1.09%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3681.40,+1.07%), Blue Star Ltd. (Rs. 1975.90,+0.95%), Voltas Ltd. (Rs. 1427.20,+0.79%),.



IT index was at 34192.7 down by -539.23 points or by -1.55%. Magellanic Cloud Ltd. (Rs. 64.50,-10.42%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 240.85,-5.08%), Mastek Ltd. (Rs. 2080.00,-4.22%), Tanla Platforms Ltd. (Rs. 677.00,-4.18%), Quick Heal Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 333.00,-4.05%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4422 , shares advanced were 1713 while 2533 shares declined and 176 were unchanged.
