Sensex, Nifty flat; Eternal falls 3%, Infosys 1.5%

Stock markets in India staged a swift recovery, after opening lower, as investors assessed Q2 results of India Inc.



At 9:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83456.09 down by -11.57 points or by -0.01 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25606.9 up by 21.6 points or by 0.08 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 83630.29 and intraday low of 83206.08 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25610.05 and intraday low of 25508.6



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2503.05,+3.90%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3617.65,+1.59%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1290.25,+1.07%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1986.00,+0.96%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2581.00,+0.77%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 340.10,-2.38%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1445.00,-1.88%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1491.10,-1.60%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1442.00,-1.50%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 289.40,-0.82%), among others.



_CDS index was at 60861.34 up by 726.88 points or by 1.21%. Whirlpool of India Ltd. (Rs. 1277.00,+3.19%), Kalyan Jewellers India Ltd. (Rs. 497.65,+2.16%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3665.05,+0.62%), Voltas Ltd. (Rs. 1420.00,+0.29%), Blue Star Ltd. (Rs. 1962.00,+0.24%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3527 , shares advanced were 1743 while 1603 shares declined and 181 were unchanged.
