Sensex, Nifty flat; HCS, IT stocks support

Indian benchmark indices continued to trade higher during the noon trading session supported by buying in index heavyweights including HCS and IT stocks.



At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82779.6 up by 85.89 points or by 0.1 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25345 up by 14.75 points or by 0.06 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 83141.21 and intraday low of 82704.92 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25448.95 and intraday low of 25341.4



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 334.25,+1.84%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1647.90,+1.71%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1540.80,+1.17%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 972.95,+0.68%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1489.85,+0.58%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 993.00,-1.34%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 709.55,-1.33%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12575.95,-1.10%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2471.60,-0.90%), State Bank of India (Rs. 852.20,-0.55%), among others.



HCS index was at 45058.63 up by 319.9 points or by 0.72%. Themis Medicare Ltd. (Rs. 129.31,+4.46%), Poly Medicure Ltd. (Rs. 2078.65,+4.13%), IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (Rs. 120.39,+3.63%), Biocon Ltd. (Rs. 365.85,+3.23%), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (Rs. 2107.00,+3.18%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4465 , shares advanced were 2093 while 2171 shares declined and 201 were unchanged.
