Post-Session: Sensex, Nifty rally on global cues and Fed rate cut hopes

Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty jumped on Friday, tracking strong global cues as investors grew optimistic about a potential US Federal Reserve rate cut next week. Sentiment was further boosted by expectations of a positive outcome in ongoing India-US trade talks, which added momentum to the market rally.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 81904.7 up by 355.97 points or by 0.44 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25114 up by 108.5 points or by 0.43 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 81992.85 and intraday low of 81641.38 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25139.45 and intraday low of 25038.05



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1003.20,+3.41%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2085.00,+2.38%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1105.30,+1.64%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 15324.90,+1.51%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 715.00,+1.30%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 321.45,-2.01%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2584.00,-1.43%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 740.70,-1.03%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3563.05,-0.61%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1903.00,-0.51%), among others.



CGS index was at 69691.79 up by 1204.13 points or by 1.76%. Bharat Dynamics Ltd. (Rs. 1566.80,+5.79%), LMW Ltd. (Rs. 14928.65,+4.73%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 399.20,+3.67%), Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (Rs. 4744.70,+3.59%), Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd. (Rs. 927.45,+2.91%),.



FMCG index was at 20786.47 down by -146.15 points or by -0.7%. Mukka Proteins Ltd. (Rs. 27.63,-3.93%), Godfrey Phillips India Ltd. (Rs. 10137.20,-2.57%), CCL Products India Ltd. (Rs. 881.85,-2.29%), Avanti Feeds Ltd. (Rs. 714.70,-2.26%), Kokuyo Camlin Ltd. (Rs. 114.45,-2.14%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4479 , shares advanced were 2168 while 2150 shares declined and 161 were unchanged.
