Mid-Session: Sensex surges 394 points; NSE Nifty at 25124.95

Domestic bourses continued to gain strength during the noon trading session supported by buying in index heavyweights including Bajaj Finance Ltd. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.Larsen & Toubro Ltd. Axis Bank Ltd.Tata Motors Ltd. among others.



At 12:20 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 81942.8 up by 394.07 points or by 0.48 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25124.95 up by 119.45 points or by 0.48 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 81992.85 and intraday low of 81641.38 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25139.45 and intraday low of 25038.05



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 990.85,+2.13%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 15327.60,+1.53%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3590.00,+1.44%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1102.10,+1.35%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 714.40,+1.21%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2581.00,-1.54%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 328.90,-0.66%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 743.80,-0.61%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 326.20,-0.56%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 285.60,-0.42%), among others.



CGS index was at 69489.46 up by 1001.8 points or by 1.46%. Bharat Dynamics Ltd. (Rs. 1572.50,+6.18%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 397.95,+3.35%), Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (Rs. 4725.40,+3.17%), LMW Ltd. (Rs. 14504.05,+1.76%), Honeywell Automation India Ltd. (Rs. 37311.95,+1.46%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4237 , shares advanced were 2177 while 1868 shares declined and 192 were unchanged.
