Equity markets surge on buying in Reliance, ICICI Bank

Stock market benchmark indices were trading firm on Thursday amid buying in blue-chips Reliance Industries and ICICI Bank.



At 10:32 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82206.45 up by 348.61 points or by 0.43 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25123.65 up by 73.1 points or by 0.29 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82231.17 and intraday low of 81921.22 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25144.85 and intraday low of 25054.9



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1986.05,+1.46%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3637.75,+1.35%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1430.40,+1.27%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1445.00,+1.03%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1086.85,+0.65%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1176.35,-1.16%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 771.55,-0.87%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2646.75,-0.82%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 324.70,-0.54%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 287.10,-0.43%), among others.



Realty index was at 7164.23 up by 72.22 points or by 1.02%. Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 556.60,+3.40%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1659.45,+2.03%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1534.45,+2.02%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2067.05,+1.27%), Signatureglobal (India) Ltd. (Rs. 1124.10,+0.94%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3889 , shares advanced were 2419 while 1256 shares declined and 214 were unchanged.
