Post-Session: Stock markets end lower on profit taking in IT shares

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty closed lower on Friday, weighed down by profit-taking in IT stocks and Bharti Airtel following a strong rally in the previous session.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 82330.59 down by -200.15 points or by -0.24 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25019.8 down by -42.3 points or by -0.17 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82514.81 and intraday low of 82146.95 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25070 and intraday low of 24953.05



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 245.75,+1.38%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2381.00,+1.10%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2353.15,+0.98%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 435.60,+0.73%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2410.55,+0.52%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1814.35,-2.81%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1659.75,-2.14%), State Bank of India (Rs. 791.85,-1.96%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1589.75,-1.46%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1615.15,-0.79%), among others.



Realty index was at 7075.9 up by 119.5 points or by 1.72%. Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 514.15,+8.55%), Signatureglobal (India) Ltd. (Rs. 1230.70,+4.66%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 1109.85,+4.24%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1373.35,+2.58%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1676.00,+2.56%),.



TECk index was at 18005.29 down by -235.09 points or by -1.29%. Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1814.35,-2.81%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1659.75,-2.14%), KPIT Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1365.15,-1.99%), HFCL Ltd. (Rs. 88.50,-1.85%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1589.75,-1.46%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4340 , shares advanced were 2730 while 1444 shares declined and 166 were unchanged.
