Coal India Q2 net profit up 7.50% at Rs 8967.72 cr

The company reported standalone net profit of Rs 8,967.72 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026 as compared to Rs 8342.12 crore in the same period last year, registering a year-on-year growth of 7.50 per cent.

Net revenue of the company rose three fold by 1097.33 per cent at Rs 304.60 crore in July-September quarter of this fiscal as against Rs 25.44 crore in the corresponding period last year.

During July-September quarter, operating expenses increased by 21.47 per cent to Rs 260.91 crore from Rs 214.80 crore in year ago period.

Other Income grew by 8.29 per cent at Rs 9,000.32 crore versus (Sep'25 Rs 8,311.37 crore).

Operating Profit slipped by 46.25 per cent to Rs 43.69 crore as against Rs 81.29 crore in the year ago period, while Operating Profit Margin (OPM) contracted year-on-year to 95.51 per cent in September quarter.

Interest declined by 0.82 per cent y-o-y to Rs 14.49 crore, while Taxation increased by 13.05 per cent at Rs 27.81 crore (Sep'25 Rs 24.60 crore).
