Lupin Limited has launched Formoflo-G® MDI, described by the company as the world’s first fixed-dose triple combination metered-dose inhaler (MDI) for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in India, following approval from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI).
Formoflo-G® combines Glycopyrronium Bromide, Formoterol Fumarate and Fluticasone Propionate in a single inhaler for the long-term management of moderate to severe COPD. The product is available in a fixed strength and is administered twice daily, offering patients a simplified treatment option.
Lupin said the launch expands its respiratory care portfolio and aims to address the treatment needs of millions of COPD patients in India. The company estimates that more than 55 million people in the country are living with COPD.
According to Lupin, the launch strengthens its position in respiratory care, where it ranks second in India’s respiratory therapy segment, based on IQVIA MAT March 2026 data. The company said the new therapy reflects its focus on developing differentiated and accessible treatment options for patients with respiratory diseases.
