India expands Digital Public Infrastructure partnerships to 24 Countries

The Government of India has strengthened its global digital cooperation by signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with 24 countries to promote the adoption of India's Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) solutions and accelerate digital transformation worldwide.

The partnerships aim to facilitate capacity building, knowledge sharing, technical consultations, feasibility studies, and the implementation of India's population-scale digital platforms, including solutions such as DigiLocker, e-Sanjeevani, e-Office, and e-Hospital.

Among the key developments, India has signed an Implementation Framework Agreement (IFA) and Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with Kenya for the implementation of DigiLocker, while the development of a foundational DigiLocker platform has commenced in Cuba. Bilateral discussions are also underway with countries including Lao PDR, Seychelles, Venezuela, Armenia, Fiji, Guyana, and Colombia for the potential adoption of Indian digital solutions.

The government also highlighted that Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has been linked with payment systems in multiple countries to facilitate cross-border person-to-person (P2P) remittances and person-to-merchant (P2M) transactions.

To support global adoption of DPI, India continues to organize technical workshops, study visits, and expert consultations with partner nations through institutions such as UIDAI, NPCI, NIC, NeGD, and C-DAC. Additionally, the government has approved a Social Impact Fund (SIF) to provide financial and technical assistance for DPI pilot projects in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), reinforcing India's commitment to inclusive digital development.
