NTPC, UPRVUNL sign agreement for Meja Stage-II Capacity Expansion

NTPC Limited and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited have signed Supplementary Joint Venture Agreement (SJVA)-III for Meja Urja Nigam Private Limited, their 50:50 joint venture company.

The agreement, signed in Lucknow on June 4, 2026, incorporates provisions for the expansion of Meja Stage-II power capacity from 2x660 MW (1,320 MW) to 3x800 MW (2,400 MW) under the existing Joint Venture Agreement.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of senior officials from NTPC, UPRVUNL, and MUNPL, including the Managing Director of UPRVUNL and the CEO of MUNPL.
