PM Modi extends greetings on National StartUp Day as StartUp India completes 10 years

On the occasion of National StartUp Day, Narendra Modi extended his best wishes to everyone associated with India’s start-up ecosystem, noting that this year’s celebration is particularly significant as it marks a decade since the launch of the StartUp India initiative.

The Prime Minister said the day celebrates the courage, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, especially of India’s youth, who have played a key role in positioning the country as a major global start-up hub.

Highlighting the transformative impact of start-ups, the Prime Minister said that they are engines of change, shaping the future of the economy and society. He noted that Indian start-ups are addressing global challenges, creating opportunities and driving meaningful transformation by daring to dream big, challenging conventions and taking risks.

Shri Modi announced ed that the Government of India has been working closely with all stakeholders to strengthen the start-up ecosystem. He said the ongoing reform-driven approach has created a conducive environment for start-ups to enter sectors once considered out of reach, including space and defence. He added that start-ups are playing a vital role in building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting young innovators and problem solvers.

The Prime Minister also acknowledged the contribution of mentors, incubators, investors, academic institutions and other ecosystem partners, stating that their guidance and support are crucial in nurturing innovation and strengthening India’s growth story.

Expressing confidence in India’s start-ups as drivers of innovation, resilience and national progress, Shri Modi said the determination and dedication of young entrepreneurs are setting new global benchmarks. He emphasised that their energy and passion will be instrumental in realising the vision of a Viksit Bharat.

In a series of posts on X, the Prime Minister reiterated his greetings and highlighted the achievements of StartUp India over the past ten years, using the hashtag #10YearsOfStartupIndia.
