Cyient announced that its Founder Chairman, B. V. R. Mohan Reddy, has been conferred the Living Legend Award by Geospatial World, in recognition of his pioneering leadership and lifetime contribution to advancing the geospatial industry in India and globally.
The award was presented during the 25th edition of GeoSmart India, a milestone event celebrating the evolution of India’s geospatial ecosystem and honouring individuals who have played foundational roles in strengthening the sector. The Living Legend Award recognises distinguished visionaries who have shaped the global geospatial industry through transformative innovation, sustained leadership, and enduring impact.
Over the decades, Dr Reddy has built Cyient from modest beginnings into one of India’s largest and most globally respected geospatial and engineering organisations. His entrepreneurial vision and continued focus on innovation have significantly strengthened India’s geospatial capabilities, positioning the country as a key global hub for engineering and R&D services.
Beyond business, Dr Reddy is widely acknowledged for nurturing next-generation leadership at Cyient and for his active mentoring across educational institutions, start-up ecosystems, and industry platforms. He has also engaged closely with government and national initiatives spanning education, IT, engineering, and societal development, contributing to India’s broader development agenda.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Reddy said the recognition reflects the collective efforts of teams and collaborators he has worked with over the years and reaffirmed his commitment to mentoring the next generation and enabling innovation that benefits society.
Sanjay Kumar, CEO of Geospatial World, said Dr Reddy has been a founding pillar of India’s geospatial industry, highlighting his entrepreneurial instincts, collaborative leadership, and sustained commitment to national development through education, innovation, and public policy initiatives.
Geospatial World, a global knowledge organisation with over 25 years of presence, continues to strengthen geospatial ecosystems worldwide through its consulting and events platforms.
