ITR filing deadline for AY 2025-26 extended to September 16

The Income Tax Department has extended the deadline for filing income tax returns (ITRs) for Assessment Year 2025-26 by one day, moving it from September 15 to September 16.

This applies to individuals, Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs), and others not required to have their accounts audited. The CBDT announced the extension in an official statement on Monday.
