HAL secures CCS approval for Procurement of 97 LCA Mk-1A Jets by Indian Air Force

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on Tuesday announced that the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), chaired by the Ministry of Defence, has approved the procurement of 97 Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk-1A along with associated equipment for the Indian Air Force.

The decision, cleared on 19 August 2025, marks a major boost for India’s indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities.
