Govt to kick off 13th round of commercial coal mine auctions today

The Ministry of Coal will launch the 13th round of commercial coal mine auctions on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in New Delhi.

The move is aimed at boosting coal production and ensuring adequate supply to meet the country’s rising energy demand.

According to the ministry, this round will continue offering mines under the most liberal terms to promote ease of doing business and attract a wider pool of investors.
