Stock markets climb amid optimism over India-US trade deal

Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading higher on Thursday, tracking positive cues from Asian markets and buoyed by optimism surrounding a potential India-US trade deal.



Analysts noted that the recent US-Vietnam trade agreement also contributed to the upbeat sentiment in domestic equities.



At 10:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83720.66 up by 310.97 points or by 0.37 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25551.55 up by 98.15 points or by 0.39 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 83781.59 and intraday low of 83348.49 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25567.5 and intraday low of 25429.75



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3213.75,+1.55%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2446.80,+1.11%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12763.75,+1.10%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1624.50,+0.91%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2002.60,+0.85%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 910.00,-1.37%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1983.00,-1.25%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2148.10,-0.91%), State Bank of India (Rs. 811.50,-0.21%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3420.10,-0.09%), among others.



Auto index was at 53981.69 up by 493.19 points or by 0.92%. Bosch Ltd. (Rs. 33503.85,+3.20%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3213.75,+1.55%), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd. (Rs. 155.10,+1.44%), UNO Minda Ltd. (Rs. 1111.80,+1.23%), MRF Ltd. (Rs. 146800.00,+1.16%),.



Realty index was at 7518.55 down by -2.62 points or by -0.03%. Macrotech Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1388.00,-0.80%), Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 550.70,-0.48%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1890.95,-0.37%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 1057.00,-0.09%), Signatureglobal (India) Ltd. (Rs. 1246.10,-0.09%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3900 , shares advanced were 2152 while 1531 shares declined and 217 were unchanged.
