Mid-Session: Sensex down 255 points; Maruti Suzuki, Asian Paints top losers

Indian benchmark indices continued to trade lower during the noon trading session weighed down by selling in index Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. Asian Paints Ltd, UltraTech Cement Ltd. Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. Bharti Airtel Ltd. among others.



At 12:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83803.28 down by -255.62 points or by -0.3 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25597.15 down by -40.65 points or by -0.16 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84099.53 and intraday low of 83694.44 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25669.35 and intraday low of 25536.7



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were State Bank of India (Rs. 818.70,+1.65%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 866.60,+1.03%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 264.30,+0.82%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3684.00,+0.52%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 689.75,+0.44%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12442.75,-1.60%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2330.00,-1.24%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12088.75,-1.19%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2185.05,-1.04%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2006.90,-1.04%), among others.



CGS index was at 72208.83 up by 660.05 points or by 0.92%. Kaynes Technology India Ltd. (Rs. 6099.05,+4.02%), SKF India Ltd. (Rs. 4793.35,+3.83%), Siemens Ltd. (Rs. 3274.95,+3.00%), Bharat Dynamics Ltd. (Rs. 1940.75,+2.61%), Finolex Cables Ltd. (Rs. 984.55,+2.54%),.



Realty index was at 7665.4 down by -44.13 points or by -0.57%. Macrotech Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1390.00,-2.25%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 838.15,-0.91%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1904.95,-0.71%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2351.10,-0.52%), Signatureglobal (India) Ltd. (Rs. 1241.25,-0.08%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4278 , shares advanced were 2397 while 1664 shares declined and 217 were unchanged.
