Mid-Session: Sensex down 94 pts, Nifty hold 25k

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 traded in negative territory today, weighed down by a subdued global market sentiment and profit booking at elevated levels. Investors adopted a cautious approach ahead of key economic data releases and global central bank cues, leading to volatility across sectors.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82236.36 down by -94.23 points or by -0.11 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25008.85 down by -10.95 points or by -0.04 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82424.1 and intraday low of 82116 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25062.95 and intraday low of 24965.8



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 304.00,+1.23%), State Bank of India (Rs. 799.00,+0.90%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 346.20,+0.89%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 9246.30,+0.87%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2118.55,+0.51%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 241.10,-1.89%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1565.15,-1.55%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3525.45,-1.05%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1442.50,-0.97%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1645.75,-0.84%), among others.



Realty index was at 7234.05 up by 158.15 points or by 2.24%. Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1605.80,+3.47%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1727.60,+3.11%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2239.90,+2.89%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 733.65,+2.47%), Macrotech Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1426.70,+2.29%),.



IT index was at 37045.55 down by -351.83 points or by -0.94%. Onward Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 296.65,-5.18%), MphasiS Ltd. (Rs. 2549.70,-1.94%), Zaggle Prepaid Ocean Services Ltd. (Rs. 431.00,-1.90%), Cigniti Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1538.00,-1.60%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1565.15,-1.55%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4292 , shares advanced were 2765 while 1319 shares declined and 208 were unchanged.
