Indian benchmark equity indices, BSE Sensex and Nifty50, were trading lower on Tuesday, following a sharp rally in the previous session. The dip came as investors opted to book profits and adopt a cautious stance ahead of key economic data releases and global market cues.
The pullback was expected after Monday’s euphoric surge, driven by easing geopolitical tensions, strong foreign institutional investor (FII) inflows, and positive sentiment surrounding global trade developments. Analysts noted that while the broader market remains optimistic, short-term volatility is likely as traders reassess valuations and await fresh triggers.
