Markets in red after sharp rally in previous session

Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading lower on Tuesday, a day after recording a sharp rally, amid the emergence of profit-taking.



At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 81552.63 down by -877.27 points or by -1.06 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24658.2 down by -266.5 points or by -1.07 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82572.81 and intraday low of 81336.04 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24973.8 and intraday low of 24658.2



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 9087.70,+0.79%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1584.20,+0.73%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1694.45,+0.49%), State Bank of India (Rs. 805.20,+0.45%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1581.05,-2.81%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 302.55,-2.10%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 235.00,-2.02%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1637.45,-1.93%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2105.40,-1.89%), among others.



HCS index was at 42188.88 up by 589.59 points or by 1.42%. Suven Life Sciences Ltd. (Rs. 172.90,+13.15%), Dishman Carbogen Amcis Ltd. (Rs. 210.25,+7.49%), Aarti Drugs Ltd. (Rs. 456.50,+6.63%), Marksans Pharma Ltd. (Rs. 236.00,+5.92%), Solara Active Pharma Sciences Ltd. (Rs. 553.55,+5.60%),.



TECk index was at 17954.48 down by -263.18 points or by -1.44%. Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1581.05,-2.81%), Bharti Hexacom Ltd. (Rs. 1715.75,-2.12%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1637.45,-1.93%), PVR INOX Ltd. (Rs. 951.40,-1.59%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 253.45,-1.53%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3833 , shares advanced were 2518 while 1103 shares declined and 212 were unchanged.
