Indian benchmark indices BSE Sensex and Nifty50 recorded their strongest intraday performance since June 5 last year, driven by easing tensions between India and Pakistan and encouraging progress in US-China trade negotiations.
At 14:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82266.09 up by 2811.62 points or by 3.54 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24887 up by 879 points or by 3.66 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 82360.43 and intraday low of 80651.07 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24902.9 and intraday low of 24378.85
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1620.00,+7.47%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 151.30,+5.99%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1660.70,+5.78%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1572.75,+5.35%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 238.20,+4.96%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 789.15,-3.51%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1687.60,-3.28%), among others.
