Stock market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading higher on Monday, following the announcement that India and Pakistan had reached an understanding to halt all military operations across land, air, and sea.
The development comes after India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ in the early hours of May 7, targeting and destroying nine terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
At 10:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 81652.46 up by 2197.99 points or by 2.77 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24691.05 up by 683.05 points or by 2.85 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 81830.65 and intraday low of 80651.07 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24737.8 and intraday low of 24378.85
