Sensex, Nifty flat; Dabur sheds 4%; smallcaps gain

Indian benchmark equity indices BSE Sensex and Nifty50 opened with small gains on Thursday, amid mixed global cues.



At 9:35 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80718.42 down by -28.36 points or by -0.04 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24392.3 down by -22.1 points or by -0.09 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 80927.99 and intraday low of 80657.3 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24447.25 and intraday low of 24381.95



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 697.30,+2.47%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2127.00,+1.51%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1174.20,+1.06%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1578.25,+1.00%), State Bank of India (Rs. 781.80,+0.73%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 231.90,-2.11%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 424.80,-1.36%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12465.00,-1.30%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3087.00,-1.05%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 145.15,-0.79%), among others.



Bankex index was at 62180.76 up by 287.85 points or by 0.47%. Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2127.00,+1.51%), YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 18.52,+1.37%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1174.20,+1.06%), Canara Bank (Rs. 94.38,+0.77%), State Bank of India (Rs. 781.80,+0.73%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3141 , shares advanced were 2219 while 767 shares declined and 155 were unchanged.
