Sensex, Nifty in red as Govt briefs on Pak, PoK strikes

Indian benchmark equity indices BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading on a muted note on Wednesday, after India retaliated by striking nine targets located in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir.



At 10:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80523.02 down by -118.05 points or by -0.15 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24372.85 down by -6.75 points or by -0.03 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 80844.63 and intraday low of 79937.48 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24449.6 and intraday low of 24220



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 669.30,+3.32%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 311.25,+1.15%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1915.10,+0.73%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3318.20,+0.61%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3085.55,+0.52%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2378.40,-1.64%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 820.10,-1.39%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1794.25,-1.35%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2010.00,-1.10%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2332.75,-0.94%), among others.

Auto index was at 51387.21 up by 485.52 points or by 0.95%. Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 669.30,+3.32%), Bharat Forge Ltd. (Rs. 1117.60,+3.00%), Sundram Fasteners Ltd. (Rs. 941.25,+2.61%), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd. (Rs. 138.70,+2.48%), Bosch Ltd. (Rs. 30594.70,+2.34%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3753 , shares advanced were 1333 while 2237 shares declined and 183 were unchanged.
