Sensex down 170 points; NSE Nifty at 24373.75

Indian benchmark indices continued to trade lower during the late noon trading session weighed down by selling in index heavyweights including Eternal Ltd. NTPC Ltd Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.Tata Motors Ltd. and IndusInd Bank Ltd. among others.



At 14:35 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80626.4 down by -170.44 points or by -0.21 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24373.75 down by -87.4 points or by -0.36 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 80981.58 and intraday low of 80510.15 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24509.65 and intraday low of 24356.75



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1897.00,+1.69%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 144.40,+1.62%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3063.55,+1.40%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2371.65,+0.98%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2351.35,+0.90%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 233.50,-2.71%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 340.60,-2.28%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1317.05,-2.21%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 648.05,-2.05%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 832.50,-1.68%), among others.



Auto index was at 50924.77 up by 58.4 points or by 0.11%. Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 3891.65,+3.21%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3063.55,+1.40%), Eicher Motors Ltd. (Rs. 5525.15,+1.22%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2730.50,+1.15%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 7976.40,+0.74%),.



Realty index was at 6643.26 down by -226.34 points or by -3.29%. Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2099.90,-5.35%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1324.30,-4.36%), Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 441.00,-4.31%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1270.10,-3.95%), Macrotech Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1289.30,-3.29%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4191 , shares advanced were 904 while 3126 shares declined and 161 were unchanged.
