Markets trade lower in volatile trade ahead of US Fed Reserve’s policy decision

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty declined on Tuesday facing volatile trends as investors preferred to stay on the sideline a day ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s policy decision.



At 10:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80537.3 down by -259.54 points or by -0.32 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24379.25 down by -81.9 points or by -0.33 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 80981.58 and intraday low of 80518.57 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24509.65 and intraday low of 24373



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3104.75,+2.76%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1901.00,+1.91%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2362.25,+1.37%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2369.30,+0.88%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12525.00,+0.49%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 8755.55,-1.98%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 235.80,-1.75%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1323.50,-1.73%), State Bank of India (Rs. 777.75,-1.55%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 835.05,-1.38%), among others.



Auto index was at 51344.41 up by 478.04 points or by 0.94%. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3104.75,+2.76%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 3854.60,+2.23%), Eicher Motors Ltd. (Rs. 5565.10,+1.95%), UNO Minda Ltd. (Rs. 927.50,+1.73%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2738.90,+1.46%),.



PSU index was at 18567.15 down by -240.68 points or by -1.28%. Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (Rs. 163.65,-3.05%), Bharat Dynamics Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3719 , shares advanced were 1121 while 2404 shares declined and 194 were unchanged.
