Sensex, Nifty flat; Auto stocks shine, pharma, PSU Banks drag

Indian benchmark equity indices BSE Sensex and Nifty50 were muted at market open on Tuesday, tracking weak global cues in the face of tariff related uncertainties.



At 9:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80805.16 up by 8.32 points or by 0.01 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24455.85 down by -5.3 points or by -0.02 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 80981.58 and intraday low of 80666.35 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24509.65 and intraday low of 24445.8



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3150.30,+4.27%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1901.70,+1.94%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 143.05,+0.67%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2344.45,+0.60%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2360.60,+0.51%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3278.55,-1.10%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 237.70,-0.96%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1818.35,-0.92%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1420.20,-0.76%), State Bank of India (Rs. 785.60,-0.56%), among others.



Auto index was at 51628.59 up by 762.22 points or by 1.5%. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3150.30,+4.27%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 3870.25,+2.65%), Eicher Motors Ltd. (Rs. 5547.20,+1.62%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 8037.10,+1.50%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2729.55,+1.12%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3015 , shares advanced were 1260 while 1601 shares declined and 154 were unchanged.
