Post-Session: Sensex ends 294 points; NSE Nifty at 24461.15

Indian benchmark indices ended higher on Monday supported by buying in index heavyweights Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. Bajaj Finserv Ltd. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Eternal Ltd. ITC Ltd among others.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 80796.84 up by 294.85 points or by 0.37 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24461.15 up by 114.45 points or by 0.47 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 81049.03 and intraday low of 80657.71 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24526.4 and intraday low of 24400.65



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1346.80,+6.29%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2030.00,+3.73%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3021.40,+3.11%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 240.00,+2.45%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 437.10,+1.62%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2085.05,-4.57%), State Bank of India (Rs. 790.00,-1.26%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3314.85,-0.73%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 846.75,-0.65%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1174.60,-0.64%), among others.



Oil&Gas index was at 27195.43 up by 520.43 points or by 1.95%. Adani Total Gas Ltd. (Rs. 665.05,+11.01%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (Rs. 206.30,+6.92%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 410.40,+6.65%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 148.60,+3.66%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 321.15,+3.25%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4458 , shares advanced were 2699 while 1540 shares declined and 219 were unchanged.
