Markets open in red; L&T, TCS top losers

Benchmark indices Nifty50, Sensex opened lower on Thursday, tracking mixed global cues.



At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73245.12 down by -221.27 points or by -0.3 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22255.2 down by -47.3 points or by -0.21 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 73499.49 and intraday low of 73184.82 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22307.75 and intraday low of 22224.8



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2246.35,+2.94%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 1025.80,+1.34%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12705.05,+1.31%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3302.35,+1.30%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1327.15,+1.04%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3355.00,-3.74%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3922.90,-1.25%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1271.75,-1.15%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2510.00,-1.12%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 856.35,-0.99%), among others.



Auto index was at 52132.84 up by 992.58 points or by 1.94%. Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 4885.30,+5.64%), TVS Motor Company Ltd. (Rs. 2105.70,+4.96%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2246.35,+2.94%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 8967.85,+2.48%), Eicher Motors Ltd. (Rs. 4687.35,+1.89%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3028 , shares advanced were 1561 while 1353 shares declined and 114 were unchanged.
