Post-Session: Sensex, Nifty end flat amid election uncertainty

India's benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices closed unchanged as the market faced uncertainty over election results and subdued corporate earnings.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 73466.39 down by -45.46 points or by -0.06 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22302.5 up by 0 points or by 0 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 73684.93 and intraday low of 73073.92 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22368.65 and intraday low of 22185.2



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 1012.20,+2.43%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 301.90,+2.25%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 355.65,+1.89%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3485.20,+1.53%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12541.00,+1.41%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2844.25,-2.31%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 9517.95,-1.76%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2340.35,-1.65%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1482.20,-1.61%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1314.00,-1.25%), among others.



CGS index was at 62848.24 up by 1310.97 points or by 2.13%. Bharat Forge Ltd. (Rs. 1408.10,+13.54%), ABB India Ltd. (Rs. 7190.05,+4.39%), Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (Rs. 3860.35,+3.95%), V-Guard Industries Ltd. (Rs. 354.00,+3.58%), Thermax Ltd. (Rs. 4714.50,+3.41%),.
