Mid-Session: Sensex up 99 points, Nifty atop 22,300 led by RIL

Key benchmark indices, recouped intra-day losses and rebounded into the positive zone on Wednesday on the back of buying support in Reliance and select frontline stocks such as SBI and Tata Steel among others.



At 12:50 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73611.01 up by 99.16 points or by 0.13 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22319.7 up by 17.2 points or by 0.08 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 73647.89 and intraday low of 73073.92 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22359.05 and intraday low of 22185.2



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 357.25,+2.35%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 1009.90,+2.20%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 301.35,+2.07%), State Bank of India (Rs. 818.30,+2.04%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2852.35,+1.73%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2852.00,-2.05%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2336.35,-1.82%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 9556.50,-1.36%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1313.40,-1.30%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1487.40,-1.26%), among others.



PSU index was at 19873.58 up by 516.52 points or by 2.67%. Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 225.85,+8.79%), REC Ltd. (Rs. 541.25,+6.80%), NBCC (India) Ltd. (Rs. 136.00,+5.84%), Power Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 443.90,+5.24%), NLC India Ltd. (Rs. 226.05,+4.15%),.



IT index was at 34209.14 down by -101.24 points or by -0.3%. Sonata Software Ltd. (Rs. 548.15,-14.00%), Protean eGov Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1163.95,-4.24%), Cressanda Railway Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 14.25,-2.13%), InfoBeans Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 429.00,-1.67%), eMudhra Ltd. (Rs. 724.45,-1.26%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3960 , shares advanced were 2261 while 1516 shares declined and 183 were unchanged.
