Mid-Session: Sensex down 500 pts, Nifty below 22,300; Paytm sheds 5%

Domestic bourses continued to trade lower during the noon trading session weighed by HCLTech, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and Reliance Industries among others.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73363.37 down by -532.17 points or by -0.72 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22260.45 down by -182.25 points or by -0.81 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74026.8 and intraday low of 73259.26 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22499.05 and intraday low of 22232.05



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2375.00,+5.31%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2511.15,+2.16%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 440.75,+1.42%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 6905.00,+0.64%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1634.75,+0.62%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 295.20,-3.81%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 853.00,-3.06%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 163.05,-2.71%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1458.50,-2.66%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 348.00,-2.43%), among others.

FMCG index was at 20078.85 up by 376.92 points or by 1.91%. Marico Ltd. (Rs. 579.95,+9.21%), Kokuyo Camlin Ltd. (Rs. 166.65,+8.53%), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (Rs. 1338.00,+6.98%), Dabur India Ltd. (Rs. 563.55,+6.16%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2375.00,+5.31%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4000 , shares advanced were 1013 while 2840 shares declined and 147 were unchanged.
