Mid-Session: Sensex, Nifty near day's low; IT, media outshine

Indian benchmark indices were trading lower during the noon trading session weighed down by selling in index heavyweights Bajaj Finance Ltd, Bajaj Finserv Ltd, Nestle India Ltd. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.,IndusInd Bank Ltd. among others.



At 12:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74098.62 down by -240.82 points or by -0.32 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22520.45 down by -49.9 points or by -0.22 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74515.91 and intraday low of 74067.38 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22620.4 and intraday low of 22494.75



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1289.15,+8.32%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 471.35,+2.25%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1519.25,+1.04%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 9773.25,+0.93%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1135.80,+0.75%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 6733.65,-7.68%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1593.55,-3.76%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2500.40,-2.43%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2062.00,-1.60%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1476.40,-1.32%), among others.



CDS index was at 54985.8 up by 815 points or by 1.5%. Havells India Ltd. (Rs. 1646.30,+5.37%), Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. (Rs. 8491.00,+4.92%), Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3970 , shares advanced were 2206 while 1586 shares declined and 178 were unchanged.
