Mid-Session: Broader indices outperform Sensex, Nifty; all sectors trade in green

Domestic bourses continued to trade higher during the noon trading session as investors bought across sectors. The cheer was visible in broader markets as well, with BSE Midcap and BSE Smallcap indices outperforming frontline indices.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73485.68 up by 397.35 points or by 0.54 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22284.65 up by 137.65 points or by 0.62 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 73728.18 and intraday low of 73227.32 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22337.1 and intraday low of 22198.15



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3600.00,+2.29%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 7282.25,+2.25%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1050.95,+2.08%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 461.45,+1.90%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 9534.70,+1.79%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 345.25,-1.61%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1519.15,-0.79%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 858.85,-0.74%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1481.00,-0.14%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 424.20,-0.14%), among others.

CDS index was at 53708.18 up by 1324.55 points or by 2.53%. Voltas Ltd. (Rs. 1392.15,+7.05%), Whirlpool of India Ltd.

(Rs. 1517.75,+5.09%), Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (Rs. 242.30,+4.71%), VIP Industries Ltd. (Rs. 530.15,+3.25%), Havells India Ltd. (Rs. 1546.05,+2.98%)

IT index was at 34229.18 down by 89.4 points or by 0.26%. Persistent Systems Ltd. (Rs. 3521.40,-9.42%), Black Box Ltd. (Rs. 255.55,-5.00%), Birlasoft Ltd. (Rs. 663.70,-2.65%), Ramco Systems Ltd. (Rs. 405.65,-2.25%), Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd. (Rs. 7438.80,-2.16%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4125 , shares advanced were 2736 while 1193 shares declined and 196 were unchanged.
