Post-Session: Nifty below 22,000, Sensex down 455 pts

Indian benchmark indices which began on a positive note, succumbed to selling pressure during the day, ending lower for a fourth session on Thursday.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 72488.99 down by -454.69 points or by -0.62 % and then NSE Nifty was at 21995.85 down by -152.05 points or by -0.69 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 73473.05 and intraday low of 72365.67 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22326.5 and intraday low of 21961.7



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1267.20,+4.15%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 280.20,+2.13%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1420.55,+0.41%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3555.00,+0.28%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2462.75,-3.31%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3526.40,-3.31%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1024.15,-2.72%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 351.40,-2.19%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 971.40,-2.12%), among others.



TECk index was at 15778.07 up by 109.55 points or by 0.7%. Just Dial Ltd. (Rs. 1009.95,+12.97%), Network18 Media & Investments Ltd. (Rs. 89.95,+4.93%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1267.20,+4.15%), Indus Towers Ltd. (Rs. 344.60,+3.53%), PVR INOX Ltd. (Rs. 1427.75,+3.16%),.



CDS index was at 51977.55 down by -802.37 points or by -1.52%. Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3526.40,-3.31%), VIP Industries Ltd. (Rs. 520.00,-1.86%), Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (Rs. 230.30,-1.24%), Whirlpool of India Ltd. (Rs. 1410.00,-0.61%), Voltas Ltd. (Rs. 1292.00,-0.48%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4203 , shares advanced were 1989 while 2045 shares declined and 169 were unchanged.
