Sensex pares gains, trades flat; Axis Bank, HCL Tech, ITC slip

Domestic bourses continued to trade higher during the morning deals supported by buying in index heavyweights including Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Tata Steel Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Larsen & Toubro Ltd., Tata Consultancy Services Ltd among others.



At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73030.12 up by 86.44 points or by 0.12 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22176.3 up by 28.4 points or by 0.13 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 73295.8 and intraday low of 72888.94 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22270.65 and intraday low of 22153.8



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 284.00,+3.52%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 162.50,+1.53%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2058.00,+1.34%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3578.60,+0.94%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3902.50,+0.78%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2514.25,-1.29%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1039.85,-1.23%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1458.65,-1.20%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3623.90,-0.63%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 6915.00,-0.47%), among others.



Oil&Gas index was at 28978.15 up by 422.03 points or by 1.48%. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 489.05,+4.28%), Linde India Ltd. (Rs. 7173.60,+3.83%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 609.85,+2.90%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 173.25,+2.48%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 209.85,+1.97%),.



FMCG index was at 19189.61 down by -25.62 points or by -0.13%. Marico Ltd. (Rs. 498.00,-1.99%), M K Proteins Ltd. (Rs. 10.95,-1.97%), Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd. (Rs. 2595.00,-1.39%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2512.00,-1.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3803 , shares advanced were 2510 while 1106 shares declined and 187 were unchanged.
