Sensex up 85 points, Nifty at 22212.6

Indian equity markets rebounded on Thursday, snapping 3-day losing streak, as investors indulge in bargain buying.

At 9:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73029.44 up by 85.76 points or by 0.12 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22212.6 up by 64.7 points or by 0.29 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 73295.8 and intraday low of 72968.97 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22270.65 and intraday low of 22208.1



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 280.70,+2.31%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2054.90,+1.18%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1425.00,+0.72%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3570.10,+0.70%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1500.10,+0.63%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2517.90,-1.15%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1462.00,-0.97%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1043.50,-0.88%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3616.80,-0.83%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1187.60,-0.70%), among others.



Oil&Gas index was at 28972.92 up by 416.8 points or by 1.46%. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 491.25,+4.74%), Linde India Ltd. (Rs. 7112.35,+2.94%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 173.65,+2.72%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 608.15,+2.62%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 211.00,+2.53%),.



HCS index was at 34849.71 down by -156.6 points or by -0.45%. Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd. (Rs. 351.20,-4.99%), Max Healthcare Institute Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3259 , shares advanced were 2372 while 776 shares declined and 111 were unchanged.
